They spend so much of their time looking after everyone else that doing something purely for themselves is almost unheard of. Both had booked their first lymphatic drainage treatment. And as we chatted, it became clear that neither of them was just looking for a treatment. They were looking for a little time to themselves. A chance to switch off. To stop thinking about everybody else's needs for an hour. One of them even described the experience as though I was gently pressing all her problems away. 🥹 And it really stayed with me. Because how many women are walking around carrying the weight of absolutely everything? The mental load. The responsibilities. The endless to-do lists. The feeling that there's always something or somebody who needs you. And somewhere along the way, you become the last person on your own priority list. That's one of the reasons I love what I do. Yes, lymphatic drainage has its physical benefits. But sometimes, what somebody needs just as much is an hour where nothing is expected of them. Where they don't have to be anybody's mum, partner, employee or problem solver. Just themselves. So here's your little reminder tonight... You deserve to be looked after, too.
